Walnut Valley Festival gets off to wet start

The 41st Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas got off to a wet start Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. Despite rain and cold win, the show went on pretty much as planned.
In the afternoon stage three was closed down, and there were not a lot of people in attendance.
The weather forecast for the remainder of the festival is much better. On Friday there is still a chance of rain, but more in the form of scattered showers than a stead rain.
It was the wind that was most uncomfortable Thursday. There were few people gathered around the stages, and those that were had a lot of warm clothes. In the stands the winds continued whipping through.
Musicians performed and that was what the hard core music fan is there for anyway.

I will be posting in this space each day of the festival. It is a good kickoff for the blog.
